McAllen New Year’s Crash Leaves Several Hospitalized

A three-vehicle crash in McAllen in the early hours of New Year’s Day has left several people, including two children and a woman, in the hospital. The crash occurred at the intersection of McColl and Old Business 83 when a vehicle failed to stop at a red light and struck two stationary vehicles from behind.

The suspect, a 26-year-old man, is currently in critical condition. Authorities suspect involvement of alcohol in the crash, and criminal charges are pending as the medical treatment is underway.

Rash of New Year’s Eve Accidents Claim Lives

On New Year’s Eve, a fatal crash in Edinburg claimed the life of 22-year-old Juan Enrique Rios, who collided head-on with a white Ford F-150. In another incident in Mission, a Chevy Camaro caused a crash that took the life of a 14-year-old girl.

These tragic incidents have led local officials to urge drivers to make responsible choices, especially during the holiday season. Their message was clear: ‘If you drink, don’t drive.’

The McAllen Police Department has confirmed that the 26-year-old man involved in the McAllen crash is expected to face criminal charges in the coming days.
