Weslaco fire officials are investigating an overnight fire at a vacant commercial building, with no injuries reported and no spread to neighboring businesses
Weslaco fire officials are currently investigating an overnight fire that occurred at a commercial building in the city. Fire crews were dispatched to the scene at around 2 a.m. off of Airport Drive and Pike Boulevard.
Upon arrival, firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the blaze, successfully putting out the fire within an hour. The building, which was vacant at the time of the incident, sustained damage, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. Additionally, the fire did not spread to neighboring buildings, allowing nearby businesses to resume their operations.
“The early stages of the fire are under investigation, but we are actively looking into the cause,” stated a representative from the Weslaco Fire Department. “We are relieved that no one was injured and that the fire was contained to the vacant building.”
The community is grateful for the swift response of the Weslaco fire crews, which prevented the fire from causing further damage to the area. As the investigation continues, officials are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
