In a heart-wrenching incident that has left a family mourning and a community in shock, a 5-year-old boy was killed in a New Year’s Eve crash in Palmview, Texas. The driver, identified as Lizbeth Samantha De La Cruz Gonzalez, was reportedly under the influence at the time of the accident.
Fatal New Year’s Eve Crash
The tragic event took place on Eber Road, south of FM Loop 374, when a black Buick driven by De La Cruz Gonzalez struck the young boy, Antonio Solis. According to authorities, De La Cruz Gonzalez was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Victims and Charges
There were two other passengers in the car at the time of the crash – an adult and a child. De La Cruz Gonzalez now faces charges of driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age. The grievous incident tragically cut short the life of young Antonio Solis, who passed away on Saturday after being hospitalized in McAllen Medical.
