Police Link Murder to Organized Crime and Vape Product Robbery
BROWNSVILLE, TX — Five individuals, including three minors, have been arrested in connection with the December 23, 2023 shooting death of 22-year-old Adam Hunter Garza, Brownsville police confirmed. The arrests follow months of investigation into what began as a vape product sale gone fatally wrong.
The two adult suspects, Jorge Angel Gallegos (21) and Ethan Gallegos (19), are now charged with murder and engaging in organized criminal activity. The same charges have been filed against three juveniles who allegedly participated in the planning and execution of the crime.
Botched Transaction Turns Fatal
According to investigators, Garza had arranged to sell vape-related products when he was robbed at gunpoint by the group. During the robbery, one of the juvenile suspects opened fire, fatally wounding Garza. He died at the scene.
