News is breaking from the Brownsville Police Department regarding the successful arrest of a man wanted for aggravated robbery. Pedro Antonio Sosa, the suspect in question, was captured last night by Border Patrol agents in a dramatic turn of events.
Pedro Antonio Sosa’s Arrest
As per the released details, Sosa was attempting to cross the border through a non-designated area when he was apprehended by law enforcement. His arrest marked the end of a manhunt that had been ongoing since late November.
The Robbery Incident
Sosa was wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery incident on November 22nd. He had reportedly robbed a 2024 Lexus at gunpoint outside a restaurant located in the 3200 block of Pablo Kiesel. Following his apprehension, Sosa was interviewed by the auto theft unit and confessed to the crime.
Detention and Possible Additional Charges
Post-confession, Sosa was transported to the Darrell B. Hester Juvenile Detention Center. Notably, another minor at the same detention center is pending arraignment on five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of aggravated robbery. The Brownsville Police Department has hinted that additional charges may be pending against Sosa, although they have yet to provide any further details.
