Border Patrol agents in Edinburg have arrested a member of the Partido Revolucionario Mexicano gang, a criminal organization operating along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Authorities report that the suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, held the rank of “Lieutenant” in charge of Northern Hidalgo County.

Previously Deported, Now Facing Federal Charges

The suspect had been deported in 2021, but illegally reentered the United States, violating federal immigration laws.

He now faces aggravated illegal reentry charges, a serious offense that could lead to lengthy federal prison time before deportation proceedings resume.
