Authorities Say Cat Was Left Without Food or Water in Isolated Area
Sergio Sanchez has been charged with animal cruelty following an investigation that revealed a cat had been abandoned in a rural area near Edinburg.
The arrest was made last month by the Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, which responded to reports of animal neglect.
Deputies found the cat without food, water, or shelter, prompting immediate intervention. The condition of the animal has not been released.

Authorities say the case is part of a larger effort to crack down on animal cruelty and neglect throughout the region.
