Suspect Caught with Meth and .45-Caliber Handgun in Chevrolet Pickup
A routine traffic stop in La Joya led to the arrest of a man now facing serious drug and weapons charges, police confirmed.
According to the La Joya Police Department, the suspect, 46-year-old Herman De La Cruz Jr., was pulled over while driving a red Chevrolet pickup truck. During the stop, officers discovered:
- 22 grams of methamphetamine
- A .45-caliber handgun
Suspect Booked on Drug and Firearm Charges
De La Cruz was arraigned and later booked into county jail, where a $40,000 bond was set in connection with the charges.
Authorities say the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to target narcotics and illegal firearm possession in the region.
