Roma, TX – Authorities in Starr County have detained a man and 13 undocumented migrants after a vehicle pursuit through the city of Roma ended with the driver attempting to flee on foot into a brush area. The chase began when law enforcement officials attempted to stop the vehicle, leading to a pursuit across the city.
According to the Starr County Sheriff\’s Office, the driver fled into the brush but was later detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents. Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered 13 undocumented migrants, all of whom were taken into custody along with the driver.
The pursuit is part of ongoing efforts by local and federal authorities to combat human smuggling along the border. No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
