Law enforcement officials are investigating a shooting incident in Raymondville that resulted in the death of a man. The suspect is now in custody. Fox News reporter Karon Lucero provides more details on this developing story.
According to Raymondville Police Department Chief Osvaldo Samora, the shooting occurred on Tuesday evening around 7 p.m. in the 800 block of West Tampico Avenue. The incident involved two half-brothers, with the victim identified as Renato Acosta. The suspect, Manny Martinez, was seen leaving the scene with an unidentified driver of a silver or light green pickup truck.
The motive behind the shooting remains unknown at this time. As a precautionary measure, Raymondville ISD schools were placed on secure protocol while the case continues to be investigated.
Authorities have not provided additional information at this time but have confirmed that the suspect will appear before a judge tomorrow.
