John Henry Zarate, a 34-year-old man from Los Angeles, was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly threatening police officers with a handsaw.
Domestic Dispute Escalates to Assault
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), officers arrived at Zarate’s residence following reports of an intoxicated man arguing with his family members. Zarate, however, refused to cooperate with the police, wielding the handsaw in a threatening manner.
Police Use Taser to Subdue Zarate
In response to his aggressive behavior, officers used a Taser to subdue Zarate. He was then arrested and taken into custody without further incident.
Zarate Faces Serious Charges
Zarate was later booked into Hidalgo County Jail, facing charges of aggravated assault of a peace officer and resisting arrest. His bond has been set at $250,000.
