The crew was flying a UH-72 Lakota helicopter assigned to the southwest border. The sole survivor, a soldier, is in critical condition. Former acting ICE Director Tom Homan praised the Border Patrol agents for their patriotism and commitment to keeping the nation safe.

Meanwhile, in Eagle Pass, Texas, migrants continue to arrive at the southern border. Despite a decrease in large groups, smaller groups are still arriving, with police responding to suspected human smuggling activities. The Department of Homeland Security identified the victims as Chief Warrant Officer John Garcia and National Guard Chief Warrant Officer Casey Frankoski, both from New York, and Border Patrol Agent Chris Luna.
