From Farm to Fork: Red River Farms in Donna Opens Doors to Public

Over the weekend, Mr. J.C. Rangel visited Red River Farms in Donna and had a blast at the local farm’s free produce drive. This event showcased the hard work and dedication that goes into farming, offering visitors a firsthand look at where our food comes from. Owners Morgan and Nick Bowman are passionate about educating the community, especially children, on the importance of knowing how to grow food and where it comes from.

Morgan Bowman, co-owner of Red River Farms, shared, “My husband and I have tossed around ideas for an agritourism business for a little over a decade now. We wanted to have something for families to be outside and have an educational aspect to it, as well as for children to learn where their food is supposed to come from and how to do it themselves.”

The farm has plans to hold classes for both adults and children to learn how to garden and raise their own food properly. This initiative aims to promote healthier lifestyles and reduce reliance on electronics. By offering a hands-on experience, Red River Farms hopes to instill a sense of pride in individuals who can grow their own snacks and meals.
