City employee Jose Antonio Lopez, who works in the district, expressed his support for the ordinance, acknowledging the need for stricter regulations to prevent further incidents. "It would be really good because this way we avoid more accidents so these kids don't just come and do whatever they want," Lopez stated.

Under the new Brownsville ordinance, any bar or club that experiences more than two incidents involving fights or disturbances will be obligated to hire a commissioned security officer.
