La Feria Homeowner Devastated After Fire Destroys 85% of His Home

Community Urged to Help as Resident Recounts Overnight Blaze

A La Feria homeowner is reeling from the aftermath of a devastating house fire that tore through his home overnight on Tim Garcia Street, destroying nearly 85% of the property.

Arturo Gonzalez, the homeowner, recalled the terrifying moment he realized something was wrong.

"I walked back to my kitchen and it was full of smoke. Everything was unplugged. That’s the first thing I checked. I came outside and looked up into the ceiling. The attic fire was coming out like crazy," Gonzalez said.

Firefighters Responded Quickly, But Damage Was Extensive

Local fire crews were dispatched to the scene, but the fire had already spread significantly through the attic and upper portions of the home. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
