House Fire in Edcouch Declared Total Loss; One Injured, Investigation Underway

An early morning house fire in Edcouch left one person injured and a residence completely destroyed, according to officials with the Edcouch Fire Department.
Crews responded to the blaze at a home on the 200 block of East Victoria Road, where they found the structure fully engulfed in flames.
Fire Contained, but Home Destroyed
Authorities confirmed that firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading to surrounding homes, but the primary structure was declared a total loss.
All occupants escaped the fire safely, but one individual was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The Hidalgo County Fire Marshal’s Office is now handling the investigation to determine the cause of the fire, which remains unknown at this time.
