Five Charged in Hidalgo County Double Murder
Authorities in Hidalgo County have charged a fifth suspect in connection to the gruesome murder of two individuals found burned in Penitas more than a week ago. Alejandro Lopez, a 43-year-old resident of Rio Grande City, stands accused of capital murder and is currently held without bond. Investigators revealed Lopez's involvement, detailing that he was present in one of the suspects' apartments during the assault on one of the victims.
Lopez allegedly assisted in loading the victim's body into a car trunk. The investigation also uncovered Lopez's presence at the crime scene in a black vehicle during the fire that engulfed the bodies. Ricardo Gonzalez and Pedro Garcia have also been charged with capital murder, while Amanda Soliz and Trianna Marie Gonzalez face charges for tampering with evidence.
The victims have been tentatively identified as Mario Morales and Maria Socorro Farias, pending DNA confirmation. The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office continues to gather evidence and warns the public to stay updated with the latest developments via Fox News.
