Two Teens Charged in Separate Firearm-Related Incidents in McAllen, Police Seize Modified Guns
McAllen police arrested two teenagers in possession of firearms, including a fully automatic Glock with a switch, following reports of terroristic threats and weapon disturbances.

McAllen, TX – McAllen police have arrested two teenagers in connection with two separate firearm-related incidents this month. Both cases involved weapons modifications, including a 9mm Masterpiece Arms Defender and a Glock Model 22, modified to fire as fully automatic.
First Incident: Social Media Threat and Seizure of 9mm Firearm
On September 6, 2024, police responded to a terroristic threat reported by a juvenile, who received a threatening social media message showing a teenager holding a firearm. Officers investigating the case reviewed a second threat the following day, featuring a different teenager with the same firearm—a 9mm Masterpiece Arms Defender equipped with a 30-round magazine, laser, and suppressor-like muzzle.
Police quickly identified the senders and detained a juvenile while arresting 17-year-old Alan Ronaldo Zamarron. Along with the firearm, officers seized marijuana, THC cartridges, and drug paraphernalia.
Charges Against Alan Ronaldo Zamarron (17 years):
Terroristic Threat, Class “B” Misdemeanor – $3,000 bond
Unlawful Carrying Weapons, Class “A” Misdemeanor – $5,000 bond
Possession of a Controlled Substance, Second Degree Felony – $2,000 bond
Possession of Marijuana, Class “B” Misdemeanor – $2,000 bond
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Class “B” Misdemeanor – time served
The juvenile involved faces similar charges and has been transferred to the Mario E. Ramirez Jr. Juvenile Justice Center.
Second Incident: Weapon Disturbance and Seizure of a Modified Glock
On September 8, 2024, officers responded to a weapon disturbance in the 2800 block of Nolana Avenue. A male was reported to be displaying a firearm in a parking lot. Officers confronted 18-year-old Adrian Velasquez, who attempted to flee the scene. Upon his arrest, officers found a Glock Model 22, modified with a switch to function as a fully automatic weapon.

Evading Arrest or Detention, Class “A” Misdemeanor – $3,000 bond
Resisting Arrest, Search, or Transport, Class “A” Misdemeanor – $3,000 bond
Unlawful Carrying Weapons, Class “A” Misdemeanor – $3,000 bond
Prohibited Weapon, Third Degree Felony – $3,000 bond
Fictitious/False Driver’s License, Class “A” Misdemeanor – $3,000 bond
Possession of Tobacco Product by Minor, Class “C” Misdemeanor – time served
Local Municipal Court Warrant – time served
